Trustees – Rewilding Britain

Job description

Rewilding Britain are seeking three new trustees to the Board to ensure it is well-equipped to guide this remarkable organisation. They are looking for trustees who can bring one or more of the following: financial understanding, governance and land management.

The Organisation

Rewilding Britain are the first and only country-wide organisation in Britain focusing on rewilding and the amazing benefits it can bring for people, nature and climate. They are fierce pioneers who are passionate about the positive role of rewilding in restoring our ecosystems and reversing the decline in wildlife.

The Roles

Rewilding Britain is at an exciting stage in its development, growing rapidly in turnover and size, with an increasingly strong leadership team. It is the Board’s role to advise and ensure that this growth is managed professionally and translates into even greater impact.

They are seeking three new trustees to bring key skills and experience to the Board to ensure it is well-equipped to guide this remarkable organisation. They are specifically looking to recruit trustees who can bring one or more of the following:

Financial Understanding
We are looking for someone who can provide finance scrutiny. You will be experienced in reading financial data and understand the broader implications for an organisation. You may be a qualified accountant or have significant experience in financial management within an organisation with an excellent understanding of profit and loss. An impressive track record within an organisation with strong business judgement around finance is required. Charity finance experience would be helpful but not essential.

Governance
We are looking for someone who has operated at a senior level within an organisation who can bring broad wisdom and expertise in governance across the whole of an organisation rather than a particular function.

Land Management
We are looking for an individual who has in-depth experience of managing land – whether this be for farming, forestry or conservation – as well as a strong interest in rewilding.

Rewilding Britain encourage a diversity of perspectives on the Board. They welcome applications from candidates from all walks of life who can demonstrate they have the required experience. We particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups, people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, people living with disabilities, people of any gender and from people across a broad age range.
