We aim to develop the Regal as a growing provincial theatre, cinema and arts centre with a bold vision. We are looking for Trustees to help guide us towards professional and commercial growth and promote the Regal as a source of community activity and pride. Do you have the necessary skills, experience and acumen to further the good governance of this wonderful local resource?
Do you fit the bill?

We have reviewed our current skills profile and are keen to meet interested parties who can bring some of the following experience and skills to join our excellent Board of Trustees:

  • Fundraising / marketing

  • Safeguarding adults and children
  • Business leadership / professional / high level sales experience

How we run

The Regal is run by a small team of paid staff and a group of over 75 proud Volunteers – recipients of the Queens Award for Volunteering given in 2019. The Board of Trustees has oversight of, and ultimate responsibility for, all areas of management of the Regal.

We are Limited Company and independent Charitable Trust, and as such we operate as a commercial business enterprise which aims to put on a growing, diverse programme of profitable live and film events which will appeal to our local community and beyond. We are regarded as a valuable Community resource in the town. Our much admired art deco building is owned by Tenbury Town Council but the management of the Regal is overseen independently by the Board of Trustees who work within the framework of an independent Charitable Trust and Limited Company.

What does being a Trustee entail?

We have 4 formal Trustee meetings a year and Trustees are expected to demonstrate their involvement by supporting our activities in an enthusiastic and active way. You will need to give the equivalent of a further 4 days a year minimum. Trustees are invited to join one of our sub-committees currently there are 3: Finance & HR, Property & Health and Safety and Fundraising. We have a steering committee for the Regal School of Creative Arts.

Candidates may have previous experience at board level but this is not essential. An active interest in the performing arts is an advantage.
