Trustees for The Ripple Pond – Military Family Charity of the Year 2023

Job description

The Ripple Pond – Military Family Charity of the Year 2023 – is looking for Trustees.

If you apply for this role, we will look at your uniqueness, skills, professionalism, and heart.

Not your age, gender, background, accent, community, sexual orientation, heritage……….

Being a Trustee is a leadership role but we are not naïve, few candidates will be able to confidently throw themselves into everything the role requires on day one.

But you must be a good communicator, which includes being an excellent listener.

You must be adept at assessing information and forming your opinion based on facts.

You must be able to talk confidently about challenging subjects and break taboos. For example, as carers our Members tackle a wide range of challenges including addictions, pain, mental health, menopause, domestic abuse, discrimination, and the complexities of family life.

But a word of warning The Ripple Pond is not just a charity, it is a vibrant active community that transforms people’s lives and the reason why our community works so well is because we really care.

Ensuring that this community continues to flourish and meet its Members’ needs requires a board with a range of perspectives and lived experiences working together as a cohesive team.

To help us achieve this goal we are looking for a range of skills, experience, and backgrounds including:

  • Navy or Royal Air Force – serving or family.
  • Arts, science, technology, health, family carer, education, commercial and finance.
  • Any social class and cultural background.

We will be looking at applicants as rounded individuals, so if you feel drawn to this role and think you have the right skills and motivation, please follow your heart and apply.

Application Instructions

Candidates must provide a simple CV and a short covering letter outlining:
Why you are applying to be a Trustee?
What do you think you will bring to the role?
How will the role benefit you?
