Trustee – Vision Support

Job description

Vision Support is seeking a Trustee to join our established Board of Governors to make a valued contribution towards our mission to enhance the quality of life, promote the continuing independence and raise awareness of vision impaired people of all ages across Cheshire and North Wales.

This is an excellent opportunity to play an influential role in a respected charity, to apply your skills and experience to make a real difference, and to be part of a friendly and passionate group.

We are looking to expand the skill set of the Board and are particularly keen to recruit someone who has experience in Charity Governance, HR or IT.

What will you be doing?

As a group, Trustees are involved in the overall governance and strategic direction of Vision Support.  This includes taking responsibility for the Charity’s financial health, the integrity of its activities and the development of its aims, objectives and goals.

You will attend bi-monthly Board meetings and yearly AGMs (virtually or in person), and be a part of strategic planning, funding and procedures.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a skilled professional who is enthusiastic and a great team player. You will be interested in and passionate about improving the quality of life of those with visual impairments, and willing to share your skills to support Vision Support to achieve its mission.

Experience of Charity Governance, HR or IT would be helpful but are not essential. This is to ensure we have a broad range of skills across our excellent Board of Governors.

What difference will you make?

As part of our Board, you will be having a direct impact, through the use of your skills, on the thousands of people who access our services every year.

Finding the right person to fill this role will enable Vision Support to increase the reach of the work that we do and the difference it makes on our service users
