Trustee role and Chair role – Campaign for National Parks

Job description

We’re seeking 2-3 new Trustees and a new Chair or the Board. We’re a dynamic and small charity, that brings together a campaigning collective of organisations and individuals working to make National Parks nature-rich and inclusive for everyone to enjoy.

Who we are

Campaign for National Parks is the only independent charity dedicated to securing the future of National Parks across England and Wales. Our independence from government means we can speak out when no-one else can.

Founded in 1936, our first campaign resulted in the creation of National Parks. Now, inspired by our past, we fight for the future. For nature-rich, wilder National Parks that everyone, no matter their background, can enjoy.

The role

Trustee role

We are seeking Trustees with a passion for National Parks who can bring different skills and life experiences to our Board.

?We welcome trustee candidates from across England and Wales who can bring one or more of the following:

· Passion and a commitment to our vision of nature-rich and inclusive National Parks.

· Lived experience or appreciation of the challenges faced by people who are under-represented in National Parks (for example, young people, those from low income or ethnic minority backgrounds, LGBTQ+, or who are living with a disability).

· Fundraising or communications

· Nature conservation or policy

New Board members will be offered a full induction and we do not require previous experience as a board member to apply for Trustee roles.

Chair of Trustees role

We are seeking a Chair who is passionate and motivated by our mission, with excellent leadership skills, who can commit the necessary time and energy to help drive our charity forward. Key aspects of the role include leading meetings of the trustee board, chairing our Council and National Park Societies group, championing a culture of inclusion and supporting, and supervising the Chief Executive.?

All positions are voluntary and unpaid. Expenses for travel and accommodation can be claimed if required.
