Trustee
We’re looking for Trustees with experience in either leisure & hospitality, conservation or climate policy, or community engagement to play an active part in ensuring we remain a driving force for nature conservation across the capital.
Role & Responsibilities
- Contribute actively to the Board of Trustees’ role to give firm strategic direction to the Trust, supporting the senior management team to develop its strategy.
- Contribute to setting and agreeing targets, regularly monitoring and evaluating performance against key metrics with risk in mind,
- Ensure the Trust’s governance is of the highest possible standard
- Guide, challenge and hold the Senior Leadership Team to account to develop and deliver an effective organisational strategy and plan, and build a successful, happy and impactful team.

Our ideal Trustees
We are seeking Trustees who have experience in one (or more) of the below areas:
- Commercial activity; retail / events & hospitality / cafes
- Engagement with nature: outdoor learning, youth involvement and community partnerships
- Nature conservation/climate policy, legislation and advocacy
Candidates must be UK-based. Given the nature of the Trust and the work it does, there is a preference for candidates who are based in or have connections to London.
All Trustees are required to become members of the Trust.

Terms of Appointment
This role is unremunerated, but reasonable, pre-agreed travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Attendance at 6 yearly meetings plus an annual strategy session, half of which are typically delivered online
Occasional further contribution either in person or online to provide mentoring, advice and guidance
Trustees are elected at the AGM for a term of three years, which may be renewed for one further three-year term and then can be extended for up to two years if required.
