About Worldwide Cancer Research 

Worldwide Cancer Research (WCR) is a small charity with immense ambition – to stop cancer by starting new discoveries worldwide. They find and fund innovative ideas at the start of the cancer research journey – starting the life-saving advances of the future by sowing the seeds of new discoveries today. They fund brand-new ideas and support researchers who ask big, challenging, new questions about how cancer works and how we can control it.

To back the best ideas they can, WCR take an unbiased approach to funding and cast the net as widely as possible. Their impartial approach means they will support research tackling all types of cancer, recognising that the greatest advances in cancer research often impact more than one cancer type.

Who we are looking for?

WCR are well positioned for future growth and now wish to boost the fundraising expertise on the board of trustees with both strategic and operational professional fundraising expertise.

The desired candidate is someone with a wide experience in charity fundraising, from mass market and digital to philanthropic and relationship-led approaches.

The fundraising trustee will bring a track record of innovative thinking and successful development and delivery of new and emerging fundraising methods. They will contribute to the leadership and strategic oversight of the charity’s income generation programmes and be a member of the fundraising committee.
