Trustee – Fundraising for Rewriting Earth

Job description

We are a young charity that seeks to bring amazing people together to make stories to change the world. Rewriting Earth, a global collaboration of the most influential storytellers on Earth united behind one cause, our planet. Our primary focus is on reaching those people who are less informed and indifferent to what is happening to all life on our planet and who are currently less committed to taking personal action. We use cool and viral content to connect disengaged audiences.

We are currently working on an ambitious period of expansion and we are looking for new Trustees with time, relevant experience, drive and enthusiasm to help guide this process through their skills and knowledge in the following area:

? Fundraising – including experience of fundraising strategy, trust and foundations and engaging philanthropists, ideally with funder connections in the environment or arts

We particularly welcome applications from people who are currently underrepresented on our Board of Trustees.

The Board of Trustees usually meets 3 times per year either virtually via video conferencing or face-to-face, with optional committee meetings across the year.

This is an important role for the organisation where the individual selected will:

? Governance and Compliance: Ensure the charity operates legally, ethically, and in line with its constitution and charity law.

? Strategic Oversight: Contribute to setting the charity’s vision and strategy, helping to guide its growth and impact.

? Financial Responsibility: Work alongside other trustees to monitor budgets and financial performance, ensuring resources are managed responsibly and sustainably.

? Ambassadorship: Act as a champion for the charity, offering support to staff and volunteers while promoting its mission and impact.

Specific responsibilities will include:

? Fundraising: Support and advise the Rewriting Earth team on effective fundraising

Application Instructions

Once received your application will be reviewed by members of the Board of Trustees before being invited to a 45 min interview.

This will be an opportunity for the Rewriting Earth Board to understand your strengths and any prior board experience but also will act as an opportunity for you to gain more insights

into the existing Rewriting Earth board of Trustees and our current focus to ensure that you have the opportunity to understand if this opportunity is right for you too.
