The Gender and Development Network (GADN) brings together over seventy expert NGOs, as well as consultants, academics and individuals committed to working on women’s and girls’ rights, gender equality, racial justice and international development. Our vision is of a world where social justice and gender equality prevail and where all women and girls are able to realise their rights free from discrimination. Our goal is to ensure that international development policy and practice promotes gender equality and women’s and girls’ rights. Our role is to support our members by sharing information and expertise, to undertake and disseminate research, and to provide expert advice and comment on UK government policies and projects.
At this critical time for the international development sector, GADN is recruiting for a new member of its Board of Trustees. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to be involved in the governance and future direction of our dynamic network. As we continue working to decolonise our practice and build an anti-racist organisation, we actively welcome applications from Black women and Women of Colour who we recognise are under-represented in decision-making spaces in the UK international development sector.
On this occasion, the Board is particularly interested in appointing a Trustee who has experience or understanding of one or more of the following:
- Experience of senior management
- Experience of serving as a Trustee
Also an advantage:
- Experience of working for a GADN member organisation
You will also need to be prepared to devote 6/8 days per year to this exciting role.
The closing date is 9am on Monday July 3rd 2023 with interviews held on Thursday July 20th 2023.
