Trustee for the British Fashion Council Foundation (BFC Foundation)

BFC is a not-for-profit organisation existing to further the interests of the British fashion industry and its designer businesses by harnessing and sharing collective knowledge, experience and resources of the sector. Formed in 1983, the BFC is funded by industry patrons, commercial sponsors, and the government including the Mayor of London and the ERDF. It leads the industry through creative influence and is strategically repositioning British fashion in the global fashion economy.

In 2017, the BFC publicly announced its intention to significantly increase fundraising activities and raise £10 million over 10 years to support the next generation of talent in the fashion industry. To help with this aim, the BFC established the BFC Foundation in April 2021 to establish one central charitable vehicle within the BFC Group.

This is an exciting time to join the BFC Foundation. Over the last few years, we have been working hard to officialise and raise the profile of the BFC Foundation; developing the Global Patron Programme, our fundraising objectives and the governance of the charity.

With that in mind, in order to strengthen our Trustee Board further, we are looking to find a Trustee with a legal background.

We are looking for applicants who have significant skills and experience in the following areas:

Time commitment:

Remuneration: This is a voluntary position & as such does not pay a salary. Reasonable expenses are reimbursed.

Term of office: 3 years

Closing date for applications: 9am, Friday 17th November 2023

The BFC is committed to being an Equal Opportunities Employer. Diversity, Equality and Inclusion. They’re more than just words. We are inclusive. We celebrate and champion multiple approaches and points of view. We believe diversity drives innovation. So together we’re building a culture where difference is valued.
