Trustee – Campaigns & Events The Cassandra Centre

Job description

The Cassandra Centre is a family-friendly South London charity that provides counselling services to survivors of domestic abuse, offers community programmes for younger and older generations, and delivers food for vulnerable people. We are recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic media campaign or events manager based in London to join us on the Board of Trustees in the Campaigns & Events seat.

The primary responsibilites for this trustee is to oversee the management of our marketing and branding, digital campaigns and fundraisers, and general planning for in-person events. Note: The trustee is not expected to coordinate all event operations since our volunteers will be responsible for many details and the work on the event date.

Campaign and Media Strategies

  • Developing marketing and branding strategies that allow for a strong presence on social media and the press to raise awareness about violence/abuse and about our services
  • Communicating to stakeholders and the public, maintaining and developing relationships with individuals and organizations for awareness, fundraising, and events

Community Event Planning

  • Generating new and innovative event ideas and searching for venues, speakers, exhibitors etc. that are interested in working with us
  • Planning and coordinating major event details (budget, venue, speakers, etc), delegating tasks, and updating the Trustees at the monthly meetings about progress

Digital and Event Fundraising

  • Planning digital media campaign strategies for fundraising and for raising awareness about events
  • Liaising with the Fundraising Trustee on targets and ideas for digital and event fundraising

Your role in keeping our charity connected and known will mean that we can offer essential services to hundreds of women and children looking for trauma support and a safe place.
