The Centre for Investigative Journalism (CIJ), a deeply principled, small-but-growing UK charity whose mission is to train, support and defend investigative journalists, as well as promote the role of investigative journalism in the public interest, seeks a new trustee to act as our treasurer. The role would involve assisting our operations manager with our financial governance, and to provide a degree of guidance and financial oversight.
The ideal candidate would be a financial director of a UK charity or a chartered accountant with experience of accountancy in the third sector. As a trustee position, the role will not be remunerated beyond the payment of travel expenses. Duties, however, will not be onerous. The CIJ is growing its reach with an increase in its international programmes so experience of managing financial growth and international payments would be an advantage.
