Treasurer for The Transforming Autism Project

Job description

The Transforming Autism Project is looking for a Treasurer that will be responsible for the charity’s financial affairs and safeguarding to work alongside our small finance team and chair of trustees.

We recently launched our new family services program (First Steps) and, as we gather more funds for this project, we will have more and more finances to handle. We’re looking for someone to us as a Treasurer to oversee financial planning, budgeting and reporting and generally improving processes. As we become more financially established and active, we’ll need these processes to be well-managed on an ongoing basis. This may require weekly or biweekly checking.

This role is crucial for our smooth running as a charity and to ensure our funders, supporters and donors can be confident that their donations are being spent according to their wishes.

This post will suit an individual with strong financial experience and (preferably) charity experience. You will hold qualifications for a Chartered Accountant or similar.

The successful candidate will be strongly aligned with the values and the approach of the charity, and passionate about the changes we are trying to make in the lives of autistic children.  They will ideally also take part in some of our team activities with our community of volunteers on a voluntary basis.

Our Treasurer should be a Chartered Accountant and have experience in accounting, auditing or bookkeeping and experience in finance management in a small charity is a bonus.

 

We are currently at a very early stage in our development, but are looking to make fast progress to make our services viable and help as many families as soon as we can.?To that end, we are looking to create a team of capable and dedicated volunteers to ensure our success.
