Job description

Winchester Cathedral seeks two new Members of Chapter, the Cathedral governing body, with experience and skills in legal matters and charity law, best practice in governance, experience in estates, events management or the cultural sector.  The new non-exec members will join Chapter as the Cathedral becomes a full charity (under the new Cathedrals Measure 2022).

The new members will play a full part, as Trustees, in the strategic decisions and governance of the Cathedral in this next stage of its development.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate Christian commitment, a desire to contribute to the Cathedral community, and an understanding of the purpose of the Cathedral in the diocese and wider world. They should have a passion to see the church at the forefront of contributing to the wider community.  They should have proven experience of the principles and expectations of a charity trustee, while bringing particular skills and experience to the Chapter’s work.
