The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust is looking for an inspiring and dynamic new Chair to join our trustee board from May 2023 to help guide the charity in its marine conservation efforts. HWDT is currently seeking applications from people with chairing and leadership skills and experience to lead our charity board of trustees. They will be willing and able to commit time and energy to supporting the staff to deliver the programme of work; understand the entrepreneurial nature of small charities and possess a genuine passion for the marine environment and its conservation.
The Chair leads the meetings of the trustee board, providing leadership to the board of trustees, ensuring each trustee has a voice and that all views are heard. The Chair also ensures that board members fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity and supports them in understanding these duties. The Chair will support and line manage the Director and the role requires that Chair and Director work closely together.
We have a strong board of committed trustees and a small and efficient team of staff. It’s an exciting time for us as we develop and implement our new strategy for the next five years. We are currently seeking a new volunteer Chair who shares our vision and will lead us through the next stage of our development.
