Chair for the PRISONERS EDUCATION TRUST

Prisoners’ Education Trust is recruiting a new Chair to bring strategic vision, energy and fresh thinking to our Board of Trustees.at a pivotal time in our development.

PET is the leading prison education charity in England and Wales. We offer distance learning courses, advice and guidance to people in prison, giving them the skills to build brighter futures. We also use our experience and expertise to inform the development of prison education policy and practice.

We are looking for an outstanding new Chair to lead our Board of Trustees. The right candidate will share our values and our ambitions, as we seek to reach out to new learners and broaden the advice and support that we offer to the people that we work with. Our new Chair will also be as committed as we are to equality, diversity and inclusion and to putting lived experience at the heart of our work.

If you care about prison education, if you want to help steer PET through the next phase of our development, and if you can offer us the dedication and commitment that we’re looking for, then we hope you will consider applying to join us.

We are committed to increasing the diversity of our Board and would particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups and from candidates with lived experience of the criminal justice system.

The closing date for applications is noon on Wednesday 8 November 2023.
