Job description

Centre for Fun and Families Ltd (CFF) supports parents, carers and young people who are experiencing behaviour, relationship and mental health challenges within families. We do this through a variety of group work programmes. We have a 30 year track record of delivering support in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, in addition to training for professionals nationally.

We have an ambitious 5 year plan for the future expansion of our services and to help us grow we need a new Treasurer to join our Board.

What will you be doing?

The Board of Directors is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of CFF. In essence, it is the Board’s responsibility to develop and steer the organisation to meet its aims and objectives.

As the Treasurer, you will be a member of the Board of Directors, with additional responsibilities. You will maintain an overview of the organisation’s financial affairs in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements. The Treasurer will ensure that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and report to the Board of Directors at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation.

What are we looking for?

We are committed to better reflecting the diversity of our user community on our Board and would particularly welcome applicants who are from Black, Asian or other minoritised ethnic groups, people with a disability, and young people under the age of 35’ who are all under-represented on our Board. We are also keen to recruit members of our local community in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

In addition to a commitment to CFF and ownership of its aims and values, we are looking for:

  • Financial experience.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret financial information and examine the financial consequences.
  • A willingness to provide financial advice and support to CFF’s CEO, Service Director and Finance Officer when required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strategic vision and a creative thinker.
  • Willingness to be part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Financial qualifications.
  • Experience in business, charity finance, fundraising, pension schemes.

Time commitment

Board meetings are held five times a year at our office in Leicester or via Zoom. For more details, please see the candidate pack.
