AEGIS was founded by a group of established guardianship organisations and UK boarding schools in response to the lack of regulations around the care of international students studying in the UK. AEGIS is the accrediting body for UK guardianship organisations and promotes the safety, welfare and education of international students aged 18 or under.
Role of AEGIS Trustee:
- Safeguarding Champion: Protect the wellbeing of young international students by supporting the effective overall governance and development of AEGIS.
- Dynamic Leadership: Bring flexibility and agility to our initiatives.
- Efficient Decision-Making: Drive quick turnarounds and professional council experience to guide our actions.
Your Profile:
- HR, Business, Legal, Financial or Safeguarding Background Preferable: Your expertise is crucial to our mission.
- Trustworthy & Professional: Demonstrate reliability and integrity.
- Dedicated Time: Allocate your availability to drive positive change. 1-2 remote meetings per term, plus attendance at annual AEGIS conference in London if possible.
- Previous experience of governance or trustee position an advantage.
