Ten million people are currently living with arthritis in the UK, many living with daily pain and fatigue. For some it is a manageable condition but for others it dominates their lives and takes away their ability to live the life they choose. We think it’s time that changed. That’s why this year, we launched our ambitious five-year strategy to drive forward towards a future free from arthritis. Until then, we won’t rest until everyone living with arthritis has the treatments and support, they need to live the life they choose with real hope of a cure in the future. To achieve our ambitions, we fund worldclass research, deliver high quality services and campaign on the issues that matter most to people with arthritis.
To ensure we are impact focused and driving forward towards the future people with arthritis want and need, we are ensuring our organisation is strategically focused, sustainable and a brilliant place to work and volunteer. This does mean that we are undergoing a dynamic period of significant positive change and transformation, which makes for an exciting time to join us in a vital senior leadership position as Director of Finance & Corporate Resources.

You will provide strategic oversight of our considerable assets, including our reserves, and evolve and deliver our ten-year financial strategy, as part of our broader organisational transformation programme. You will have a broad role across governance; procurement; facilities; portfolio and project management; data and digital. Areas of priority will include strengthening our data and digital systems and leading our work to mature our impact and performance measurement.
We are looking for qualified accountants with strong finance skills and experience of leading a finance function of relative scale. Ideally, candidates will have had accountability for broader corporate resources and have managed finance transformation. You will have experience of inspiring integrated, multidisciplinary teams to succeed. We are open to individuals from a range of sectoral backgrounds, providing that candidates bring a strong commitment to our work and outcomes for our beneficiaries; our values; and our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) principles.
