The University is seeking to appoint two new Lay Members of Court and expressions of interest are sought from individuals with executive and/or non-executive board level experience ideally gained in large and complex businesses.

This is an exciting time to be joining Court.  The University has secured positive achievements across all three of the primary ambitions articulated in the Strategic Plan Addendum 2021 – 2023: to be one of the top 25 universities in the UK, to increase our income by £50m, and to enhance our research profile by 100%.

Going forward into 2023–24, grounded in achievements to date, the University looks to build a strong foundation from which to launch our next Strategic Plan towards 2030. The strategic priorities which will drive the University to the next stage in its development include:  putting students personal and academic growth at the heart of what we do; creating a culture where staff can thrive and be proud of what they achieve; producing world leading research and innovation with global impact; partnering key players in our region, nation and the wider world to make a difference; investing in the health of our University community, and impacting on the health of society through research and training.
