The Vice-President and Head of Social Sciences is an important leadership role at the University. You will be responsible for contributing to the University’s overall vision and plan and working closely with the broader leadership team, reporting directly to the Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor. Within the Faculty of Social Sciences – renowned for its innovative and impactful research addressing critical issues such as social inequality and climate change – the position will promote excellence in education and research, focusing on quality and impact. The VP will also provide strategic direction, oversee policy development and ensure an inclusive culture within the Faculty.
The successful candidate will have a distinguished academic background with a strong research reputation, alongside experience as a senior leader within an academic context. Strategic leadership and operational management ability is essential. They should be familiar with leading ongoing improvement for an exceptional student experience whilst overseeing a large and complex team. We are seeking candidates with a track record of successful collaboration with external stakeholders, and the ability to advocate and be an ambassador for the University.
