NHS Blood and Transplant: Non-Executive Directors – VAC-7485
The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care is looking to appoint up to three Non-Executive Directors to the board of NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT). One of the roles will require a clinician with expertise in organ transplantation.
NHSBT is a Special Health Authority dedicated to saving and improving lives and they are an essential part of the NHS providing a wide range of services making the most of every donation – from blood and organs to tissues and stem cells.
As a Non-Executive Director, you will work with the Chair, other non-executives and the Chief Executive and the Executive team to govern the activities of NHSBT.
To be considered for the role, you must have an understanding of the broad role of NHSBT with the ability to articulate some of its key challenges. Applicants will be required to demonstrate that they have the ability to operate effectively on the board of a large and complex national organisation, and ability to develop and deliver robust governance arrangements including performance, financial and risk management.
The new Non-Executive Directors will ideally be able to bring skills and experience in at least one of the following areas:
– Clinician, with experience in organ transplantation
– HR/People
– Finance/Commercial
Remuneration will be £7,883 per annum for a time commitment of two to three days per month. Ministers determine the length of appointment, which may be for up to a maximum of 3 years.
