“Through an exciting new programme launched in September, Into Film will inspire young people to tell their own screen stories, enable them to take their first steps in practical filmmaking, and advocate even more vocally for why this is so valuable and important.”
Into Film is the UK’s leading charity for film in education and the community, bringing the power of moving image storytelling into classroom teaching, as well as providing screen industry careers information and advice, and supporting young filmmakers. Due to the ongoing support of the BFI and Into Film’s other funders, the Into Film programme – consisting of a streaming service, educational resources, teacher training, cinema screening trips, film clubs, and the Into Film Festival – is free for UK state schools, colleges and other youth settings. Into Film is governed by a diverse, dedicated and high-level board, including both key players from the film industry, and headteachers from across the country.
As Into Film celebrates its ten-year anniversary this year, this is an exciting time for the organisation having been successful in its application to deliver educational activity within the BFI’s new Screen Culture 2033 strategy. Through an exciting new programme launched in September, Into Film will inspire young people to tell their own screen stories, enable them to take their first steps in practical filmmaking, and advocate even more vocally for why this is so valuable and important. At the heart of this commitment will sit a new campaign called Every Child A Filmmaker, which will help to nurture the next generation of screen storytellers, including those from underrepresented groups.
As Paul Reeve, MBE steps down after a decade as Into Film’s inaugural CEO, the Board seek candidates to lead Into Film into the next chapter of its journey, helping the organisation to realise its ambitions for growth and even greater impact. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional people leader who brings strong strategic skills and commercial acumen who will be able to help Into Film grow its reach, increase and diversify its funding, develop strong strategic partnerships and be an outstanding ambassador for Into Film’s work. Most importantly, the CEO will inspire the extraordinary team at Into Film and show the same commitment as them to helping children and young people discover the power of the moving image.
