As part of its succession planning, the Group is seeking to recruit additional Independent Non-Executive Directors (“iNEDs”) to the Boards of NatWest Group plc and NatWest Holdings Limited, holding company of the bank’s ring-fenced operations including its retail, commercial and wealth businesses.
THE ROLE
- Attend and contribute to Board and Committee meetings, providing input and independent oversight and challenge to management.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the business strategy, providing constructive challenge to management and bringing external perspective to Board discussions.
- Support the Chairman in setting the tone from the top on culture and overseeing actions being taken by management to maintain an effective governance structure and embed a culture of risk awareness and ethical behaviour in line with the Group’s values.
THE PERSON
- Financially literate, with strong retail or commercial banking experience forming part of a broad understanding of financial services organisations and related products and services.
- The ability to add value by offering wise counsel and advice based on relevant experience and a successful track record of achievement.
- Capable of meeting applicable regulatory requirements, including in relation to any Board Committee appointments.
