About the role

At Watford Community Housing, we are proudly different. We are a Community Gateway housing association, which means we put our tenants at the heart of everything we do. We encourage our tenants to become voting members who can affect decisions that directly impact them. We put in the extra work to deliver more to our residents through positive partnering with community-focussed groups. These partnerships allow us to do more for our communities, the environment, and to meet the growing need for quality social housing.

Our Group Board is an esteemed team of professionals that work collectively ensure that Watford Community Housing and our subsidiary community-focused organisations continue to execute our current strategy, keep our strong record of good governance and statutory compliance, and keep an eye to the changing needs our of residents and the larger environment we work in.

With the retirement of a member of our Group Board, we are excited to welcome a new non-executive director that will also sit on our Treasury Working Group and be the board lead for expertise on complex treasury matters including debt raising, debt management, investment management, ESG reporting, and treasury risk management. We are proudly a G1 V1 rated organisation and value leadership from the Treasury Working Group to ensure we both meet current viability requirements, but also are forward thinking around stress testing, treasury strategy, and future budgets and business plans so we can be bold in providing for our community. We anticipate our new Group Board Member will have senior level finance and treasury experience, as well as experience as a Non-executive Director or Trustee.

Our team is made up of individuals from diverse backgrounds, and we whole-heartedly encourage candidates from underrepresented backgrounds or with disabilities to apply.
