Family Business UK HR Director (part-time)

Family Business UK (FBUK) is the largest organisation in the UK dedicated solely to supporting, representing and championing family businesses. We play a critical role in increasing awareness and understanding of the sector, influencing government policy, and championing the model of private business and family firms. This is an exciting time to join FBUK, at a pivotal time in the organisation’s history. We are embarking on a new and ambitious direction of travel, and are looking to recruit individuals who are ambitious, commercially minded and driven to create change and have an impact. We are seeking a part-time (10% FTE) HR Director to provide strategic leadership and ensure best practices in people management.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape and develop FBUK’s HR function, ensuring a positive and high-performing workplace culture. You will be responsible for overseeing key HR processes, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and policy development. Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, you will help foster a supportive and inclusive working environment that aligns with FBUK’s mission and values.

In this role, you will provide expert HR guidance on organisational development, compliance, and employee wellbeing. You will contribute to strategic workforce planning, ensuring FBUK has the right talent and structures in place to achieve its goals. Your work will also involve advising on employment policies, supporting leadership in HR decision-making, and ensuring adherence to best practices in people management.

The successful candidate will be an experienced HR professional with a strong track record in strategic HR leadership. This is a flexible, part-time role, ideal for someone looking to contribute their expertise within a dynamic and purpose-driven organisation. If you have a passion for fostering great workplace cultures and supporting teams to thrive, we would love to hear from you.
