We are looking for a Chief Executive (Part Time – 18.5 hours per week) £32k pro rata.

Chichester Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a bright, thriving Chamber that represents a diverse and dynamic range of businesses throughout the local area.
Representing the business community within and beyond the Chichester district, the Chamber liaises with partners and stakeholders on behalf of its members, to ensure their views are known and they are kept up to date on issues affecting them.

The Chamber offers an active and varied calendar of events for members and non-members, including monthly meetings, business and social events plus training and workshops throughout the year. We’re proud to have in the region of 200 members with over 60 attending meetings regularly but we’re keen to grow this number and develop the membership benefits on offer.

The Board of Directors is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Chief Executive (CEO) who has the skills and enthusiasm to take the Chamber from the strong position it holds currently and forge an outstanding position for its future.

The focus of the role will be on the management of existing members and growing our membership base year on year.

The CEO will work alongside a dedicated, volunteer Board of Directors who provide governance for the Chamber of Commerce and will have the support of a part time administrator. This is a chance for you to put a wide range of skills into practice, forge your own role and make waves in the business community.

Expectations and Requirements: –

Ideally with a sales & business development background, this role requires a logical, strategic thinker with creativity and vision.
An ability to recognise opportunities and an attitude of continuous improvement & innovation is most beneficial as this is a constantly evolving role.
It would suit a self-starter and quick-thinker with high levels of initiative, self-motivation and enthusiasm plus project management and budgeting experience.
The ideal person is a decision maker used to working in collaborations and partnerships, where high levels of influential & negotiation skills are needed.
An ambassadorial role, this would suit a good communicator with experience of communicating at all levels of business from large national brands and growing companies to local micro-businesses and start-ups.
Experience in managing suppliers & contractors is also desirable, as well as an ability to understand business processes.
An understanding of financial management and budgetary control is required.
A competent user of marketing methods & technologies – including social media.
Experienced in business administration and day to day system processes is desirable – including experience in using MS Office, CRM systems and website editing tools/software.
Empathetic and able to build relationships at all levels.
