Audit and Risk Committee Member – L&Q Group

£6,151pa – part time

Description

L&Q is one of the UK’s leading housing associations. We house around 250,000 people in more than 100,000 homes, primarily across London and the South East and more recently in the West Midlands and North West of England. We are proud that we are delivering our ambition to provide thousands of new homes every year. Our roots date back nearly 60 years and we believe passionately that people’s health, security and happiness depend on where they live.

Our vision is that everyone deserves a quality home that provides them with the opportunity to live a better life and our purpose is to provide homes and neighbourhoods everyone can be proud of. In April 2021, we published a new five-year corporate strategy setting out how we will provide safe, high quality homes, services and support for all of our residents. We are really excited about the journey we are undertaking.

We are now recruiting for two new committee members to bring additional technical skills, expertise and provide stewardship to L&Q. We want to attract two new committee members: one for the Audit and Risk Committee and one for our Development Committee. We are seeking senior leadership experience gained in large, complex organisations.

For our Audit and Risk Committee, we are interested in attracting applications from senior finance professionals who have a wealth of experience and hands on working knowledge of an asset-based organisation like ours. We need an individual who thinks strategically and who will look across the business with a critical eye and ensure we are working in a smarter and simpler way for our customers.

For Development, we are looking for a development professional, someone financially astute with the expertise to scrutinise and strategically advise across our development proposals and pipeline. We need an individual who can bring a fresh perspective to our committee.

We want our board to reflect the communities we serve and we value diversity in all its facets, including gender, disability, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation and identity.  We have a clear target to improve the diversity of our Board and would wish to encourage people – including current L&Q residents – with the broadest possible range of backgrounds and perspectives to express an interest in this role. Lived experience of the services we provide, whether personally or through your work, is always valued.

If you would like to know more about this exceptional opportunity to join one of the largest and most dynamic social housing providers in the UK, then please contact our advisors Rosie Gunn on 07964 841 007 or Tim Hills on 07393 011 130.

Closing Date: Monday 27th March.
